MARTINS FERRY, Ohio --

A Minnesota man is accused of throwing a party, providing alcohol and raping a teenage girl.

Xzavier Demond Hampton, 19, is charged with rape and six counts of contributing to a minor.

Police said they believe Hampton threw a party Wednesday night at a house he's renting on Monroe Street in Martins Ferry. During the party, police said, Hampton had sex with a teenage girl against her will.

Neighbors told NEWS9 there are often teenagers at the house, drinking alcohol and making noise.

"(Hampton) was the only adult there. They were all juveniles there. He provided the alcohol and that's when the rape occurred on the 13th of November," said Mika Armstrong of the Martins Ferry Police Department.

Police said when they arrived Thursday to arrest Hampton on a rape charge, two other juveniles were at the residence drinking.

"One of the juveniles at his residence was a runaway. The other had tardiness and delinquency in school and we had been looking for him, too," Armstrong said.

Hampton is scheduled to be arraigned next week. As of Friday, he remained in the Belmont County Jail on $26,000 bond.
