Steubenville High School alum Najee Murray signed a rookie free agent deal with the Cleveland Browns Monday morning in Berea.
Murray attended the Browns rookie mini-camp on a tryout deal basis this past weekend and did what was needed to earn another opportunity to make the Browns roster this fall.
Murray is being seen as a potential valuable asset in certain defensive packages the team will utilize. Murray was ranked ninth in the nation in passes defended during his senior season at Kent State. There, he earned first team all-Mid American Conference honors at defensive back. He also impressed at Kent’s pro day, running a 4.44 40 yard dash.
