Crosscurrents at the Stifel Center
Stifel Fine arts Center and School of Dance, 1330 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003; Crosscurrents at Oglebay Institute’s Stifel Fine Arts Center is a juried multi-media exhibition featuring top regional artists. Each year, dozens of artists who reside within an 80-mile radius of Wheeling vie for a chance to exhibit in this long-running annual show. Guest jurors choose the works for the exhibit and cash prizes are awarded to winning artists. Regular gallery hours are 9am-5pm Monday through Friday and 10am-4pm Saturday. Admission is free. Towngate Theatre Presents "Gimme Shelter"
Towngate Theatre, 2118 Market Street Wheeling WV 26003; Towngate Theatre will show Gimme Shelter, the harrowing documentary of the Rolling Stones 1969 tour, 7pm July 7 & 8 and 2pm July 9. Directed by Albert and David Maysles and Charlotte Zwerin, Gimme Shelter chronicles the last weeks of The Rolling Stones’ 1969 US tour which culminated in the disastrous Altamont Free Concert. Tickets are $7 and can be purchased at Towngate’s box office beginning one hour before each show.

Exhibition on Screen: Munch 150 from the Munch Museum and National Museum OSLO
Towngate Theatre, 2118 Market Street Wheeling WV 26003; This Exhibition On Screen chronicles the 2013 celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Edvard Munch with a once-in-a-lifetime show co-hosted by the National Museum and the Munch Museum in Oslo, Norway. The exhibit brought together the greatest number of Munch’s key works (220) in one place. Know primarily as the man who painted The Scream, his complete works are just as remarkable and secure his place as one of the greatest artists to have ever lived. See the trailer here. Comedy in Wheeling: Improv with the Crazy 8's

Show begins at 7pm. These brave performers hit the stage without a script, props or a safety net. Armed only with adrenaline and their imaginations, they make-up stories on the spot that entertain and amuse.
