This marks the 28th year for the parade, and more than a dozen bands will march through downtown Wheeling. There are 23 professional floats this year, which is the most ever. One of the most unique floats is expected to be the float commemorating West Virginia’s 150th birthday with special dignitaries aboard.

For the event, 14th Street between Main and Market streets will be closed all day today.

Market Street from 12th to 16th Street will be closed to traffic starting at 4 p.m., and Main Street will close at approximately 6:30 p.m. when the parade kicks off.
